Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be significant and as milder conditions take affect some minor surface wet snow instabilities may occur. Steeper slopes, gully exits and steep corrie rims with a North-West through North to Easterly aspect will be most affected. The older icy snowpack will slowly soften and start to thaw and any remaining cornices prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, mainly above 800 metres some light snow showers on moderate South-South-Easterly winds. During the day the freezing level will rise above the summits, rain and strong Southerly winds will then affect the area. Observed Weather Influences: After a cold night it dawned bright and clear with all summits cloud free with a frost in lower glens. Then some clouds started to appear with a brief snow shower the snow fall was short lived but the clouds lingered over the higher summits with some clearer spells. At first, freezing at levels with moderate South-Westerly winds the freezing level slowly rose through the day to around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Cold conditions have consolidated the snowpack further, it is frozen, firm and icy on all aspects and elevations. Deepest snow amounts are present on North-West through North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres other aspects will have lesser amounts. Very little snow cover below 700 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
