Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are generally safe, but that doesn't mean you can't trigger an avalanche, especially if you venture into extreme terrain. You still need to assess each slope you intend to ride individually. Look for and evaluate small slabs of newly drifted snow on easterly-facing slopes. Also, be careful around steep rocky slopes with variable snow cover. You can choose slopes with even snow coverage and fewer rocks to reduce your chance of triggering an avalanche.
