Avalanche Summary

The recent wind has pummeled most slopes into impenetrable slabs or blown all the snow to Kansas. You could still trigger a slide where you find rounded pillows of snow. Look for firm, hollow snow in unusual places like well down from ridgelines and cross-loaded gullies. If snow cracks beneath you, it's time to head to lower-angled slopes. You can find safer travel in areas sheltered from the wind.
