Points saillants

At the mid and upper elevations strong southwest winds and new snow have combined to form pockets of soft slab up to 18 inches in depth. These slabs lie upon a weak layer of faceted snow and will be easily triggered. With more snow and strong winds during the day the hazard will INCREASE with the potential for natural activity in some of the highest wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations where the snowpack is less than a foot deep.
