Avalanche Summary

An Avalanche Watch is in effect. Strong winds and intense snowfall will rapidly increase the avalanche danger. Very dangerous avalanche conditions are expected to develop by Wednesday morning and last through Friday.

For Tuesday, the most dangerous slopes are where strong winds are drifting new snow onto north through east-facing slopes that have buried weak layers. You can easily trigger an avalanche large enough to bury you on these slopes. Safer travel options exist on low-elevation, wind-sheltered slopes facing southeast through south to southwest or below treeline where you find less than a foot of new snow that is still soft and lacking any cohesion.
