Forecast Snow Stability: Isolated accumulations of windslab will build throughout the period on steep North to East aspects above 950 metres. Accumulations will contain weaknesses due to cold temperatures, particularly where they achieve depth in areas such as coire rims and gully tops. Cornices will develop above the same aspects. Elsewhere, a light dusting of snow will persist above 400 metres. Old snow patches will remain firm icy and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A mostly dry day is expected with the lingering potential for some light snow flurries. The freezing level will rise slightly during the period to finish the day at around 550 metres. Winds will be moderate to fresh and predominately from the South-South-West. Observed Weather Influences: Occasional light snow showers fell above 300 metres. The freezing level was around 400 metres at midday. Winds were from the North-West and moderate in strength. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated accumulations of windslab are present in steep wind sheltered locations on North-East through East to South aspects above 950 metres. These being mostly confined to coire rims and gully tops. Small fragile cornices have also developed above South-East aspects. Outwith these areas a light dusting of snow persists above 300 metres. Windward slopes are icy and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
