The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger. These can at their margins be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in extremely steep terrain and at transitions into gullies and bowls, this also applies adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas at intermediate and high altitudes. Additionally avalanches can also be released in near-ground layers. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack serve as an alarm sign.

As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind from northeasterly directions, visible wind slabs formed in the last three days in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack at intermediate and high altitudes. In all aspects below approximately 2000 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

The weather will be cold. The wind will be light to moderate in the vicinity of peaks. The avalanche danger will persist.
