Avalanche Summary

You can trigger small avalanches in the wind-drifted snow on Thursday and Friday as a storm moves through the area. Looks for signs of recent wind-loading, such as new cornices, smooth rounded pillows of snow, or cracking in the new snow to indicate possible danger. North, northeast and East-facing slopes are the most likely places to find this problem. Seek out wind-sheltered slopes to avoid this problem.
