Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. Soft surface slabs up to three feet in depth formed by southwest to west winds exist on leeward aspects. Older harder deep slabs which lie upon buried weak layers of faceted snow formed earlier in the season also persist and pose a serious hazard. Both the surface slabs and deep slabs could be triggered by backcountry users, especially by larger triggeres such as snowmachines. The consequences of triggering one of these slabs are likely to be severe. Helping a partner whose snow machine is stuck on a steep slope with the potential to avalanche is not recommended.
