Avalanche Summary

Besides isolated, drifted pockets, avalanche conditions are generally safe. Go around steep slopes where you find a cohesive slab of recently drifted snow. You're more likely to find drifts resting on collapsible weak layers in areas with more snow since Christmas, like around Cameron Pass and the Never Summer Range. Look for areas where recent snow is still cohesionless, or stick to slopes on the southern half of the compass.

Look for the danger to increase on Friday in areas that get more than about 6 inches of snow.
