Avalanche Summary

Continued snow and wind on Wednesday will add weight to an already tender snowpack. West and southwest winds will build thick slabs of drifted snow. Look out for loading farther down the slope than usual. North through east to southeast-facing slopes are dangerous not just because of the new drifted snow, but because weak layers are buried 1 to 2 feet in the snowpack. You can trigger slides from a distance or below. Give slopes with drifted snow a wide berth, especially if you see a slope actively getting loaded.
