Avalanche Summary

You can trigger a wet avalanche on most slopes steeper than about 35 degrees. If you are planning on traveling in avalanche terrain, be aware that with no overnight freeze on Wednesday night, it may not matter how early you start; you are likely to encounter cohesionless, wet snow on most steep slopes. Even if the snow feels supportable to your weight, this is likely a weak surface freeze, and there is most likely plenty of water and wet snow lower in the snowpack. If you are traveling in avalanche terrain, carefully manage for loose avalanches on very steep slopes and avoid large, open start zones where you can trigger larger slab avalanches.

Temperatures will decrease on Thursday night, and avalanche conditions will be notably less dangerous on Friday.
