As the temperature drops hardly any more moist and wet avalanches are to be expected in all altitude zones. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust will hardly soften at all. The snowpack remains generally stable. Weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack on steep shady slopes. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large loads in isolated cases. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.

The weather conditions fostered a strengthening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. Towards its surface, the snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling here. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Snow that is very compacted on the surface and stabilised by the stormy winds at the end of February, or composed of faceted crystals and, locally, snow with weak cohesion and surface frost. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack here. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at high altitude snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In some regions 2 to 5 cm of snow will fall from the afternoon above approximately 1800 m. This snow will be deposited on surface hoar in particular on shady slopes.

The weather will be sunny at times. Slight increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. This applies on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m.
