Avalanche Activity

Wind slabs and wet snow represent the main danger.

In all aspects medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches are possible. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. In addition the wind slabs must be taken into account. Gliding avalanches are possible. Avalanches can as before be released, in particular by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area light precipitation. Above approximately 1700 m snow will fall in some localities. The weather conditions will give rise to moistening of the snowpack in some cases. Weak layers exist in the snowpack. In addition large wind slabs formed also adjacent to ridgelines.

Tendency

The weather will be clear at times over a wide area.
