Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs represent the main danger.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found on steep shady slopes, and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Several small and medium-sized avalanches are possible in particular above approximately 1800 m. The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days can be released, especially by large additional loads,. As a consequence of solar radiation the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses.

Snowpack Structure

The weather conditions facilitated a gradual strengthening of the snowpack. Weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack.

Tendency

Slight warming.
