Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming the prevalence and size of the avalanche prone locations will increase.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on shady slopes at intermediate and high altitudes. Small and medium-sized avalanches are possible in particular on steep shady slopes. Avalanches can be released by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack over a wide area. The snowpack will become gradually wet all the way through. On sunny slopes hardly any snow is lying.

Tendency

Over a wide area significant warming. As a consequence of warming the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent.
