Wind slabs and wet snow require caution.

The clearly visible wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects at high altitude. In addition from the late morning in all aspects, an increasing number of medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large wet avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on very steep slopes above approximately 2000 m, as well as at the base of rock walls. In particular on shady slopes the avalanches can penetrate even deep layers. Backcountry tourers or freeriders can release avalanches easily.

The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. As a consequence of warming during the day the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. The new snow of Wednesday must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects above approximately 2700 m. Towards its surface, the snowpack is moist and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is barely capable of bearing a load. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will soften during the day.
