CM for 22/1/22: Good stability. Minor wet snow instability possible on steep NE to SE aspects above 950m after rain. Low Hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Very patchy snowpack. Good general stability. Some very minor wet snow instability possible on steep North-East through East to South-East aspects above 950 metres with the onset of rainfall. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Progressively milder with some light rainfall at all altitudes from dawn onwards. Moderate to strong West-South-West winds. Observed Weather Influences: Inversion conditions: progressively milder air temperatures near summits but cold surface temperatures in clear conditions. Moderate West-South-West winds. Dry throughout. ObservedSnowStability: Good stability. Cold, soft, thin windslab lies in pockets beneath some very steep North-East through East to South-East aspects above 950 metres, mainly around coire rims and gully tops. The remaining very patchy old snowpack is frozen and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
