Points saillants

Slab avalanches are still possible.

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Toutes altitudes

Avalanche Activity

Slab avalanches are still possible.

Soft wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack. Fresh and somewhat older wind slabs have formed especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally in the high Alpine regions. They can be released even by a single winter sport participant in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m.

Snowpack Structure

The strong wind has transported some snow. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded still only poorly. In its middle, the snowpack is largely stable. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
