50 cm of snow, and up to 70 cm in some localities, will fall until the evening above approximately 2200 m. As a consequence of new snow and a strong southeasterly wind, sometimes large wind slabs will form in the course of the day in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls as well as above the tree line. In these altitude zones medium-sized and large natural avalanches are possible. As the precipitation becomes more intense the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. The peak danger point will be reached in the afternoon probably. Backcountry touring and snowshoe hiking call for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.

The new snow of Saturday will be deposited on the favourable surface of an old snowpack. At low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The old snowpack is moist.

In some localities wind and new snow: The danger of dry and moist avalanches will not decrease for the time being.
