The snowpack will be wet all the way through. Dry avalanches are no longer to be expected. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be only a slight increase in the danger of wet and gliding avalanches. Small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on steep east and west facing slopes below approximately 2800 m, as well as on north facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.

During the mostly clear night the snow surface will freeze to form a crust, which will be strong over a wide area in the morning. The crust will thaw as the day progresses, and the danger of wet snow avalanches will increase a little. The snowpack is thoroughly moist up to elevated altitudes in the high Alpine regions on south facing slopes, below approximately 3000 m on west and east facing slopes, and below approximately 2400 m on north facing slopes. Individual locations prone to dry avalanches are still to be found in particular on very steep north facing slopes above approximately 2600 m.

It will be quite sunny during the day despite high-altitude cloudbanks. During the afternoon convective cloud will build up over the mountains. On Tuesday night the skies will be only partly clear. On Wednesday, cloud will build up from the southwest. In consequence, it will be only occasionally sunny on Wednesday and Thursday in Valais and on the southern flank of the Alps. A little precipitation may fall. The north and east will be quite sunny and dry. In the majority of cases, the avalanche situation will be favourable in the morning. Under the influence of daytime warming and solar radiation, the danger of wet snow avalanches will increase a little during each of the coming days. Backcountry touring and ascents to refuges are to be concluded timely. Individual locations prone to dry avalanches are still to be found in particular on very steep north facing slopes above approximately 2600 m.
