Avalanche Activity

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on west to north to southeast facing wind-loaded slopes above approximately 2400 m.

The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs are in some cases prone to triggering. They can be released by a single winter sport participant. This also applies at a distance from ridgelines. The wind slabs are clearly recognisable to the trained eye. Individual moist snow slides are possible, in the event of solar radiation especially on extremely steep sunny slopes.

Snowpack Structure

In particular at intermediate and high altitudes further wind slabs formed. The strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. Less snow than usual is lying. The old snowpack will be moist, also in all aspects below approximately 2700 m. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
