Points saillants

The wind slabs represent the main danger.

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 1,700 m

Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs represent the main danger.

Wind slabs can be released, mostly by large loads in isolated cases. On wind-loaded slopes mostly small avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. On steep south facing slopes thus far only a little snow is lying.

Tendency

Over a wide area some new snow at low altitude. As a consequence of new snow and wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent towards the evening.
