Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,800 m

Avalanche Activity

In all aspects hardly any snow is lying.

In all aspects as well as in all altitude zones less snow than usual is lying. The conditions are unfavourable for ski touring. The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information. The wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at high altitudes. These can in isolated cases be released, mostly by large loads. These places are sometimes covered with new snow and are therefore barely recognisable.

Snowpack Structure

Up to 5 cm of snow fell on Tuesday above approximately 800 m. Below approximately 2500 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying. On north, northeast and east facing slopes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2600 m no snow is lying on south facing slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on rocky shady slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
