Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw and consolidate. Snowpack stability will be generally good. Isolated surface instabilities possible and cornices will be prone to collapse, particularly where in the sun. Greatest snow accumulations will remain in high North and East facing corries. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: After a few overnight showers that will fall as rain at most levels, it will be a dry overcast day. Winds will be moderate Southerly. The freezing level will be above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A dry sunny day with light winds. The freezing level rose to around the summits in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Localised instabilities present in shaded gullies and coire rims consolidated through the day. Areas affected are North and North-East aspects above 1150 metres. Elsewhere the snowpack continues to thaw and consolidate and stability is generally good. Cornices are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
