As a consequence of the strong northwesterly wind, snow drift accumulations formed. These are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain, not only adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas. The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. They are mostly rather small but to be assessed with care and prudence. As a consequence of solar radiation individual mostly small dry and moist avalanches are to be expected. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep slopes at intermediate and high altitudes. Avalanches can be released in particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming there will be a gradual increase in the danger of wet avalanches. In particular on very steep sunny slopes more small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses.

10 to 25 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last few days above approximately 2300 m. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded still only poorly with the old snowpack, in particular at high altitude. Sunshine and high temperatures gave rise to gradual moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2700 m. In the last three days on very steep slopes several small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches were observed. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in shady places that are protected from the wind, especially above approximately 2400 m.

The danger of moist and wet avalanches will increase a little during the day, in the event of prolonged bright spells especially.
