Wind slabs above approximately 2000 m. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Wind slabs can still in isolated cases be released by large loads. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m.

Snowpack Structure

The wind slabs represent the main danger. The older wind slabs are easy to recognise and can be released in isolated cases at their margins.

Tendency

The conditions are mostly favourable for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities.
