While you're unlikely to trigger an avalanche Monday, older wind slabs formed last week may lurk on unusual aspects near and above treeline.  Early season hazards exist, use care in areas of low snow cover.

East winds can cause atypical loading patterns so you may find wind drifted snow on aspects that are usually stripped by the wind. If venturing into higher terrain closer to the Cascade crest, older wind slabs that formed last week should be trending towards unreactive.  Since we have high uncertainty in this zone, continue to approach steeper slopes with evidence of recently drifted snow cautiously.  Bear in mind that gullies may have been cross-loaded over the past week.  On northerly aspects or in cooler shaded terrain that isn't wind affected, you'll likely find drier surface snow.

Snow depths taper off quickly the further east you travel from the Cascade crest.  Early season conditions exist. Use care to avoid stumps, rocks, open creeks, and other early-season hazards.
