Forecast Snow Stability: The few remaining patches of firm old snow will be well bonded and stable, softening slightly as the day progresses. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight it will be dry with moderate Westerly winds and the freezing level around 800 metres. During the morning the winds will back South-Westerly becoming gale force as the freezing level rises well above the summits. Showers, heaviest around midday will fall as rain at all levels. Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry day with strong North-West winds. Freezing level close to the summits. ObservedSnowStability: There is next to no snow remaining. Any isolated patches on high North to East aspects are firm and stable. There is a light cosmetic dusting of new snow on the highest tops. The avalanche hazard is Low.
