Points saillants

Low avalanche danger will prevail.

Avalanche Activity

Low avalanche danger will prevail.

Wind slabs are small and can only be released in isolated cases. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on very steep north and east facing slopes at elevated altitudes, in particular in gullies and bowls. The avalanche prone locations are rare and are easy to recognise. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Snowpack Structure

Only a little snow is lying. The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. As a consequence of a sometimes strong wind from southwesterly directions, small wind slabs will form in some regions.

Tendency

Sunday: The avalanche danger will already increase in the late morning. Over a wide area 15 to 25 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1600 m. As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force wind, avalanche prone wind slabs will form in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.
