The weather will be very mild. The danger of moist snow slides and avalanches will increase during the day.
The early morning will see favourable conditions generally. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase in particular on rocky sunny slopes. Individual mostly small moist avalanches are possible below approximately 3000 m. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on very steep shady slopes. They can be released, mostly by large loads in isolated cases.
As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface, especially on sunny slopes, as well as on shady slopes at low altitude. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack. Intermediate and high altitudes, steep shady slopes: The snowpack is largely stable and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a strong crust. Relatively hard layers of snow are lying on old snow containing large grains. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted. At low altitude only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
