Points saillants
On the weekend of November 18/19, The San Francisco Peaks received the first significant snow of the season, and several inches accumulated near treeline. Avalanches are unlikely, and the snowpack is insufficient for backcountry touring via skis or snowshoes. Expect more updates and observations as the snowpack builds. Now is the time to check gear!
- Beacons (avalanche transceivers) have fresh batteries and no corrosion in the battery compartment.
- Probes assemble properly with no weak points in the cable.
- Shovels are not damaged and working properly.
- Airbags are charged, working properly, and tested.
- InReach/Satellite communicationsare up to date and working.
