Points saillants

New snow and strong southwesterly winds have resulted in soft slabs up to 2 feet in depth on a variety of aspects at mid and upper elevations. These slabs lie on low density snow and crusts on Southerly aspects and low density snow and surface hoar on other aspects. These slabs will be sensitive today and could be triggered upon approach as well as release naturally. The potential exists for these slabs to pull out deep hard slabs on slopes with Northerly aspects. At low elevations today pockets of soft slab to 1 foot in depth exist. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended today.
