Points saillants
At the mid and upper elevations older slabs 2 to 4 feet in depth lie upon weak layers of faceted snow. Slabs could be triggered by skiers or snowmobilers today especially in areas with wind deposits and where the underlying layers of well developed faceted crystals persist. These slabs can be triggered on slopes which have been previously crossed by skiers or snowmobilers and could step to the ground.
