Points saillants

The remaining upper and mid level elevation snowpack is underlain by a basal layer of faceted snow. The potential exist for dangerous wet slab avalanches to fail on this basal layer during the late spring melting process. Be aware of the potential for these events to occur especially during significant rain events or during prolonged periods of above freezing temperatures. New snow avalanches are likely during and immediately after significant new snowfalls. Wet slides are likely when temperatures are above freezing.
