Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE in steep terrain where significant new snow lies upon weak old faceted October snow layers. Strong southwest winds have formed new soft slabs one to two in depth in wind loaded avalanche prone terrain above 8,000 feet. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered by humans or could release naturally. Avalanches are unlikley in areas where the new snow does not lie upon old snow.
