Avalanche Summary

Continued snow and increased winds on Wednesday night will build dense slabs of drifted snow. Expect dangerous avalanche conditions on Thursday. Northwest through east to southeast-facing slopes are dangerous not just because of the new drifted snow, but because weak layers are buried 1 to 2 feet in the snowpack. You can trigger slides from a distance or below. Give slopes with drifted snow a wide berth, especially if you see a slope actively getting loaded. Avoid steep slopes where you see bulbous pillows of recently drifted snow, or observe shooting cracks in the snow.
