Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on slopes where wind-drifted snow rests on top of weak snow buried near the ground. The most dangerous slopes face a north or easterly direction. Watch for and avoid drifts on steep slopes below ridgelines and the sides of gullies.
