The backcountry touring conditions are mostly favourable.

In some regions up to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last three days above approximately 1800 m. The new snow is lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released especially by large additional loads. This applies especially on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. As a consequence of warming during the day individual small moist and wet avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on extremely steep sunny slopes. Even a small snow slide can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

5 to 15 cm of snow fell on Tuesday above approximately 1600 m. The old snowpack is well consolidated and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from the middle of the day to gradual moistening of the snowpack in particular on steep sunny slopes at intermediate altitudes. Intermediate and high altitudes: Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack especially on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. In particular in the vicinity of peaks snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
