Avalanche Activity

Fresh and older wind slabs require caution.

At higher altitudes and on wind-loaded slopes mostly small dry slab avalanches are possible. The wind slabs can be released in isolated cases in particular on steep shady slopes. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase in particular on steep sunny slopes.

Snowpack Structure

The fresh snow as well as the extensive wind slabs are bonding only slowly with the old snowpack in all aspects.

Tendency

As a consequence of wind, further wind slabs will form in some regions.
