The new snow will be deposited on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

As the day progresses, a few moist snow slides are possible. The new snow is lying on the favourable surface of an old snowpack. The fresh wind slabs can only be released by large loads in most cases.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of new snow and wind, mostly small wind slabs will form. Snow depths vary greatly at intermediate and high altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular at low and intermediate altitudes a little snow is lying.
