Points saillants

New snow from the last several days rests on surface hoar, sun crusts and northerly melt-freeze crusts. Loose snow sloughs can be expected on steeper non-wind affected slopes. Soft slabs up to 18" thick may be triggered on steep wind loaded slopes. Such slabs could trigger the persistent deep weakness, causing slabs 3-5 feet in depth. These deep slabs could also be triggered by skiers, boarders, or more likely by snowmobilers.
