Points saillants
Dense and hard slabs from recent snow and very strong Southwest to West winds exist in avalanche terrain at mid and high elevations. These slabs could be triggered on steep wind loaded slopes with depths to four feet at the high elevations and not necessarily by the first person on the slope. At the mid elevations pockets of slab to three feet in depth could be triggered today particularly in steep, rocky or cliff areas. These slabs will become more sensitive if significant warming occurs today. A close call occured yesterday when skiers on a ridge near the summit of Albright's triggered a hard slab avalanche with a five foot crown that ran on both NE and SE aspects to the valley floor.
