Avalanche Activity

Dry and moist avalanches require caution.

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2400 m. New snow and wind slabs can be released and reach medium size, especially in high Alpine regions. The current avalanche situation calls for caution.

Snowpack Structure

20 to 30 cm of snow fell in the last three days above approximately 2200 m. Up to 2100 m rain has fallen. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust, after a clear night especially at low and intermediate altitudes.
