Isolated danger zones in gullies and bowls

Weak layers in the old snowpack can in isolated cases on shady slopes be triggered , esp. in gullies and bowls. Avalanche releases are mostly small-sized. Apart from the risks of being buried in snow masses, the danger of being swept along and forced to take a fall require consideration.

Snowpack Structure

The older snowdrifts blanket a weak old snowpack, esp. on wind-protected slopes. Clear nighttime skies are forecast, with low temperatures and low air moisture. Thus, the snowpack will expansively metamorphose during the nocturnal hours. The snowpack is highly diverse even over small areas. The snowpack is highly diverse even over small areas. On Saturday, sunshine all day long and radiantly azure skies. Above the valley floors there will be fog and high-fog (border at 600-900m). Outstanding visibliity.
