Avalanche Activity

Snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

The wind slabs represent the main danger. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on steep shady slopes, especially in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Mostly the avalanches are small and can be released by large loads. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Snowpack Structure

From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying. The wind slabs are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain.
