Good conditions continue into the weekend, with only clouds in the forecast. While good for Feb, It isn't yet a "bomber" snowpack, and the chance of getting surprised on big, steep features exists. Freezing levels to 1500m on Sat. SH

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind Slabs

    • Alpin
    • Limite forestière
    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Possible
    Taille
    2–3
Isolated wind slabs up to 100cm thick in the high alpine are still triggerable in steep terrain. Thinner snowpack areas on gully sidewalls and unsupported slopes will be most vulnerable.
  • Cornices

    • Alpin
    • Limite forestière
    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Possible
    Taille
    2–3
Strong winds from earlier in the month have created large cornices on lee (mostly easterly) aspects. Several large cornice collapses have been observed over the past week. These cornices could be a big enough to trigger a deep slab.
