Tetons
Danger d’avalanche
Points saillants
Generally safe avalanche conditions exist with the exception of some shallow, isolated wind slabs near high elevation ridges and peaks. Be on the lookout for warming conditions that may make these wind slabs, and possibly cornices, slightly more sensitive to triggering. Cloud cover, a breeze and a generally well-settled snowpack should keep any avalanche problems associated with warming to a minimum in most middle and upper elevation locations. Continue to observe safe travel protocols including traveling one at a time and carrying rescue gear while in avalanche terrain.
Avalanche Discussion
Thursday looks be mostly sunny with strong northwest winds on the summits. Morning temperature inversions should break down during the day with highs in the twenties expected at all elevations. The snowpack is currently stable and the avalanche danger will be Low in all forecast areas.
