At low and intermediate altitudes only a little snow is lying. Isolated mostly small moist avalanches are possible as the moisture increases. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found on very steep slopes above approximately 2400 m.

Snowpack Structure

On south and southeast facing slopes in all altitude zones hardly any snow is lying. This also applies at low and intermediate altitudes. High altitudes and the high Alpine regions: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals and its surface has a crust that is barely capable of bearing a load.
