During the day, redistributed and new snow will rapidly form unstable, and increasingly widespread windslab on SE,S,SW aspects above 500 metres. Here avalanches are likely. Wind sheltered places such as coire back walls, gullies, steep banks and burn lines will be affected. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Persistent and heavy snow expected throughout the forecast period. Freezing level around 500 metres. Significant snow amounts expected. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with Westerly winds at summit levels light to moderate strength at times during the morning, increasing to gale in the afternoon as Storm Darragh arrives. Freezing level around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Old firm and stable snow is present in localised places mostly above 1000 metres on Northerly to Easterly aspects.
