Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will rapidly build on W to Northerly aspects mostly above 800m overnight. During the day, redistributed and new snow will rapidly form unstable, and increasingly widespread windslab on SE,S,SW aspects above 500 metres. Here avalanches are likely. Wind sheltered places such as coire back walls, gullies, steep banks and burn lines will be affected. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Forecast Weather Influences: SE gale force winds becoming storm force overnight. E to NE and moderating to gale force by daybreak. Northerly during the day becoming storm force. Persistent and heavy snow expected throughout the forecast period. Freezing level around 500 metres. Significant snow amounts expected. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with Westerly winds at summit levels light to moderate strength at times during the morning, increasing to gale in the afternoon as Storm Darragh arrives. Freezing level around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Old firm and stable snow is present in localised places mostly above 1000 metres on Northerly to Easterly aspects. A thin cover of new snow lies on all aspects above 800 metres with shallow, stable, accumulations in wind sheltered places on mostly Easterly aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low
